Illustration: Superhero Project: Chance the Creator & The Dude
“The Superhero Project is a nonprofit organization that empowers youth through art and storytelling, particularly those facing medical challenges, disabilities, or trauma. They work with children and teens to create superhero alter egos, which are then visualized by artists as personalized superhero posters.”

This time out I drew Chance, who lives with anxiety and some other social/emotional challenges, and his little brother, Auggie, who has autism. Chance is a super creative kid and gave us lots of fun ideas for his poster. Auggie has tons of energy and really enjoyed designing his superhero.
I was thrilled to get this response from Chance and Auggie’s Mom:
“We received the boys’ posters in time to give them to them on Christmas! They are beautiful! The boys were truly amazed. … Eric did an amazing job. He incorporated everything the boys wanted! I love how he included The Arch. … Thank you to both you and Eric for providing the boys with this amazing gift.“

In addition to the poster, the artwork was also published in a Superhero Project coloring book, a gift for donors.
